Caddo Parish Fire District #8 was formed in October, 1989.
The Fire District covers the towns of:
Hosston, Ida, Rodessa, and Vivian.
The total land coverage is approximately 144 square miles.
District 8 has two (2) paid personnel, the District Chief and the Station Captain. Both are valuable assets in keeping the equipment in top running condition. The District also has 65 volunteers that help cover the entire District. Contact the District Chief or Station Captain to become a volunteer.
Since the District's conception in 1989, the fire ratings have dropped as follows:
1992 the town of Vivian dropped from a class 6 to a class 5.
1994 the District dropped from a class 10 - 8 to a class 7.
1998 the town of Vivian remained a class 5.
1998 the District dropped from a class 7 to a class 6.
1998 the town of Rodessa dropped from a class 7 to a class 5.
